Add Items to All Stock Rooms

Maintenance Connection provides a feature that allows you to ensure that all inventory items are associated with each stock room. This provides an easy mechanism to associate new inventory items (possibly retrieved in an import) with all available stock rooms so that they do not need to be added individually. Once the record has been created for each item, you can then modify parameters individually, such as actual inventory and reorder points.

Ensure each inventory item is listed in each stock room:

  1. Select Tools > System > Add Items to All Stock Rooms from the Main Menu.

    A message appears, warning you that the process will ensure each inventory item is associated with each stock room. This means if an item is not currently listed in a stock room, it will be added. If the item is already associated with a stock room, no change will be made to the existing record.

    You can change the default bin that will be applied to all newly created records if desired.

  2. Click Apply.

    Maintenance Connection searches the inventory database and identifies any items that are not currently associated with each stock room. For each item identified, a new record will be created with default reorder point of -1. This ensures that no automatic reordering will take place until real inventory quantities and reorder parameters have been defined for the item.
